The district of Yuksekova is located between the longitudes of 42-10 and 44-50 and the northern latitudes of 36-57 and 37-48. Yuksekova plain has a width of 15km and a length of 40 km. Despite having rich alluvial soils, tree and fruit growing is rarely practiced due to negative climate conditions. The big difference in temperature between day and night as well as seasons has established a ground for lush meadow and pasture as well as animal husbandry rather than agriculture. The largest plateau is the Kandil Plateau and the vicinity of Armutduzu. The largest valley is the Nehil stream valley, which is a tributary of Zap that runs through Yuksekova. The plateaus in Yuksekova have dictated the economic life and especially given prominence to animal husbandry. The main plateaus are the following:
CEYTER, MERGEZER , MEYDANBELEK, MOR MOUNTAIN, VARGENIM, KANIMASI
